FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is FuelEU Maritime and who must comply?

FuelEU Maritime requires ships ≥5,000 GT calling at EEA ports to cut the GHG intensity of their energy: −2% in 2025 rising to −80% by 2050 (vs 2020). The penalty is ~€2,400 per tonne of VLSFO-equivalent energy in deficit.

What is the minimum flash point for marine fuel?

SOLAS requires a flash point ≥60 °C for marine fuels. Heeding’s engine-safety check blocks any non-compliant purchase.
